At the moment, in exam module, the linked recency item can be updated
as per the submitted date
as per marked date
This is to request to add another option as 'as per the date issued'.
The reason being, as per the current setup, the recency update/ expiring date can be different from person to person (as per the submitted/ marked date). However, if there is an option as 'Issued date' then the recency item can be updated/ expired on same date for all the people assigned that exam.
Additional Information on the issue;
Clients have several annual recency items for the entire company, based on exams and declarations ("Have you read the latest SOPs? Yes/No" etc) and to manage them it is easiest to issue them to all users at one time.
If a user takes longer to submit the exam (E.g., they are on leave and only submit it in the following calendar month) it should not affect the recency item expiry date, which should be the same for all users - based on the exam issue date every year.
Most of these cases are annual exams and declarations and will either expire in Dec or Jan, so another way for the developers to look at this is to add an option to set the recency item expiry date on the calendar. For example, the annual SMS exam is issued to all users annually every January and the SMS recency item, updated by the exam should expire for everyone on Jan 31 the following year.
That's the concept, however, currently the two recency item date drivers don't really allow the admins to manage the dates - it is quite arbitrary to update the item by the date the exam is submitted or the date the exam is marked, those are random, uncontrollable dates whereas these recency items (and their exams) have fixed renewal dates based on the calendar.
