I have set up all our roster flying icons with recency validations - which was an auditing requirement. However, I have had to remove some of them from my ACO and Rotary Wing pilot roster icons as we have pilots/ACO's that fly more than one type of aircraft and therefor have primary and secondary recency types.
If I assign a recency validation of 'Aircrewman: Primary Front (BK17)' when I schedule an ACO for the shift associated with that validation but they have 'Aircrewman: Secondary Front (BK17)' they get a discretion.
So need the ability to assign a recency validation of 'Aircrewman: Primary Front (BK17)' OR 'Aircrewman: Secondary Front (BK17)'
The work around that we've employed to avoid the issue described by @SallyRuttman is to create a Composite Recency item for recencies such as licenses (e.g. A composite item named "Pilot License" which is updated by 1 child item, namely "ATPL" or "CPL").
However, if users are not aware that they need to set up a composite recency item to work around this factor, it can cause confusion and frustration.
I support the need to change the Roster Shift Code Recency Validation to an "OR" function (as opposed to the current "AND" function).
This also applies where different recency items have been created for different licenses and/or medical certificates, etc...
