The new flying tab takes up too much space on the left-hand side of the screen. This is more of a problem on laptop computers. The version 1 tab was narrower, this was a better UX for laptop users.
Perhaps putting information in two rows would narrow the tab down?

Thanks for sharing this feedback. Can you share a bit more detail on your laptop screen resolution and DPI scaling? That should enable us to reproduce what you're seeing and look into options. Can you also let me know if there are any fields in the new Aircraft panels that you'd be happy to 'give up' should we be able to make a narrower view option?
In the meantime, another option that may help you is to use the Full Screen option in the top right of the map; this gets rid of the nav bar and browser frame which will maximise your map real estate.
