The Safety Reporting and Hazard and Risk Register modules are practically isolated from one another. The full extent of the current ‘integration’ is that it is only possible to link a safety report to a hazard/risk.
As a User with the requisite access permissions to configure the Hazard and Risk Register, I would like to:
create a generic list of hazards in the Hazard and Risk Register (currently possible);
list and assess the risk(s) associated with each hazard (currently possible);
assign controls to mitigate said risk(s) and the determine the residual risk (currently possible but could be improved);
As a User with the requisite access permissions to process a Safety Report, I would like to:
if the hazard has already been identified (and added to the generic list of hazards in the Hazard Register), search for and select it from a dropdown list (or equivalent) of existing hazards;
if the hazard has not yet been identified, create a new hazard, which is consequently added to the Hazard Register;
if the hazard has already been identified and a risk assessment performed in the Hazard and Risk Register, specify whether of not the existing mitigation controls are adequate and, if not, re-assess the residual risk and amend existing controls or create new controls.
In summary, the Hazard and Risk Register should be integrated with the Safety Reporting module to the extent that one informs and updates the other.
