'Acknowledged' checkbox in safety report forums

When included in a safety report forum simply for 'FYI' purposes it would be helpful to have an 'acknowledged' tick box which would identify you understand the safety concern and comments made, without the need to add a comment and un-check the 'send notification' check box. The option to no longer receive email notifications from the forum (if the content is not directly relevant or in need of your input) should also be available as part of the 'acknowledged' function.
