Make the "Description" input field in Task Details tab bigger

When entering details into the "Description" field in the Task Details tab, the area available to view is quite small (see pic). Sometimes we have info copied and pasted, or lots of details to scroll through. Is there any way we can make this area take up a bigger proportion of the screen? Or have an "expand" option, such as the one on this text box (pic2)!
