Currently Air Maestro supports SMS notifications of changes in Roster/Schedule. It would however be very useful and cost-effective, to offer the use of WhatsApp as an alternative messaging platform for such notifications.
WhatsApp offers clear delivery and, unless disabled by the user, read notifications, which is a better indication of delivery and reading of messages than for SMSs.
WhatsApp as a platform is also considerably cheaper than SMS.
In addition, integration of WhatsApp onto many platforms other than cellphones offers additional flexibility to the recipient in terms of read and message management options beyond those offered for SMSs.
We have had requests for this functionality from a large number of clients. WhatsApp is widely used and thus a highly viable communication medium. It is more accessible than email and, unlike SMS, does not cost anything.
